John Stikes with Iron Gait PercheronsIn addition to helping IGP, John still makes his presence known in a strong way competing in Full Contact Jousting around North America.  He also performed for several years at Medieval Times where he rode and trained horses, and performed high intensity fights and choreographed jousting.

Definitely keep your eye out for John Stikes, not just in Full Contact Jousting, but as he becomes a huge part of the IGP family going forward!

Candace Lee, Marketing Director

Candace Lee with Iron Gait PercheronsCandace started volunteering for the rescue in 2012.  "Seeing what an amazing job IGP does with their horses and how hard Denise works to give them a fair chance at a good life inspired me to want to become hands-on with the rescue and do all I can to support their efforts." says Candace.  She started riding as a small child taking lessons on her first "horse-love" named Royal, and developed a love and understanding for horses that has grown into a passion for rescuing horses.

Candace has volunteered with hippotherapy clinics and assisting special needs children in working with horses.  She even adopted her first horse, Callie, from IGP in September of 2012.  Shortly after that, she fell in love with a Percheron mare named Snow that she adopted in October 2012.  "My two rescue horses are like children to me and I am thankful for IGP giving them a second chance at life".  Candace is a mother to a 3 year old little boy who has inherited her love for horses and is learning a lot about horse rescue at a young age!  She works for BridgeMill Animal Hospital in Canton, GA and has a love for all animals.

Corey Comiskey, Marketing Director

Corey is currently a student at Kennesaw State University (KSU) working on completing her Bachelors in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology. She also competed on the KSU Equestrian Team. Corey has owned horses her entire life and has a great compassion for helping horses that don't have a voice. "I love being around the horses and I enjoy being a part of such a self-less organization thats sole purpose is in helping them!" says Corey. She has a daughter, Kadence LeeAnn, due on Jan 1st, but that hasn't slowed her down at all in her efforts to help out at IGP.

Taylor Westbrook, Marketing Director

Taylor Westbrooke with Iron Gait PercheronsTaylor began volunteering at IGP in 2012, and was very excited about joining the Marketing team at IGP and putting her Business and Marketing education to work for the rescue. She started riding horses as a child and has owned a few along the way. However, as with a lot of teenagers, she stepped away from her horse craziness and has only recently come back to the equine world. Taylor has been teaching Preschool for the last nine years and is looking forward to making it a solid ten. She also volunteers her time working with Middle School and Elementary aged children at various camps throughout the year.

Taylor adopted Contessa "Tessa", a Belgian mare from IGP in October of 2012. This mare caught her attention when pictures were being shared on Facebook by those trying to get her out of the hands of a kill buyer. It was the donations from some wonderful people that saved Tessa from a very dark fate. "I remember mentioning to Denise that I was interested in Tessa... The next time I was up there she informed me that my new mare had arrived. I'm pretty sure I laughed and shook my head. But as soon as I met her I knew that I would be taking her home."

Taylor also has a Paint mare named Jessie Jane "JJ"
